Frozen Chocolate Banana Treats
Plant-based | No-bake | Freezer treat | Kid-friendly
These cocoa-rich frozen bites are rolled in crunchy cereal for a wholesome twist on dessert. Whole-food ingredients come together for a treat that’s better than ice cream. Make as balls, flatten into cookies, or add peppermint for a refreshing variation.
Ingredients

| Ripe bananas | 2 | |
| Unsweetened cocoa powder | ⅓ cup | |
| Unsweetened plant milk | ⅓ cup | Almond, soy, or oat |
| Pure maple syrup | ¼-⅓ cup | To taste |
| Pure vanilla extract | 2 tsp | |
| Peppermint extract | ¼ tsp | Optional |
| Rolled oats | 2 cups | |
| Crunchy cereal | 1½ cups | Grape Nuts, Kashi, or Ezekiel |
Method
Section titled “Method”-
Mash: In large bowl, mash bananas with fork.

Mix: Add cocoa powder, plant milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and peppermint (if using). Mash and stir to combine.

Add oats: Stir in oats and mix well. If mixture is too runny, refrigerate 15-30 minutes to help set.

Prepare: Line baking sheet with waxed or parchment paper. Place cereal in small bowl.

Shape: Using melon baller or small spoon, scoop chocolate mixture and drop into cereal. Roll to coat completely. Place on prepared baking sheet. Flatten with back of spoon into cookie shape if desired.

Freeze: Place baking sheet in freezer until treats are frozen solid.

Store: Transfer to airtight container and store in freezer.
Coating options: Grape Nuts, Kashi 7 Whole Grain Nuggets, or Ezekiel 4:9 Golden Flax Cereal all work well
Too soft?: If mixture won’t hold shape, add more oats or refrigerate longer
Peppermint: Add for a chocolate-mint variation
Storage
